Rainbow Mouse

Jasmin and the Big Storm

Big storms were no strangers to Mouse Meadows, where the air buzzed with tales of rain and sunshine but none as enchanting as those about rainbows. This story, however, is about a little girl mouse named Jasmin, who carried the biggest dreams in the tiniest of hearts. Jasmin had never seen a rainbow, but her ears were filled with stories of their magic and mystery.

As the clouds gathered, painting the sky a deep gray, the mice of Mouse Meadows scurried to the safety of their homes. All except Jasmin, whose excitement bubbled like a stream in spring. Today, she believed, was the day she would finally see a rainbow, the mysterious bridge of light her friends spoke of, a bridge she imagined you could dance on.

"Rainbows are good luck," whispered her friends, voices tinged with awe. Jasmin, fueled by tales of wonders and treasures at the end of these rainbows, made up her mind. "I'm going to find out why they have so many colors," she announced to no one in particular, her determination as fierce as the storm outside.

But the biggest question remained: where do rainbows end? Jasmin was convinced it had to be just at the edge of town. Surely, that's where all the secrets of the rainbows waited for her, hidden just beyond the familiar.

With a heart heavy with curiosity and paws light with excitement, Jasmin donned her bright yellow raincoat, a beacon of light against the stormy night sky. She glanced around her small, cozy room, its corners filled with memories. Today, she was an adventurer, setting sail into the unknown.

Stepping out, she knew that rainbows woke up at sunrise, and she wanted to be right there when they arrived. This meant she needed to be at the edge of town by morning, so off she went into the night air.

Jasmin's Night Adventure

Jasmin walked under the night sky, going to the middle of town. Everything was quiet and a little bit mysterious. The first friend she met on her journey was a worm named Welig. He was trying hard to climb up a big tree because he wanted to make a cocoon and sleep there until spring.

Jasmin, full of curiosity, asked Welig, "Do you know anything about rainbows?" Welig stopped and thought for a moment. "Rainbows are like magic," he said softly. "They appear when sunlight shines on raindrops. That's why we see them after it rains." But that was all Welig knew, so he wished Jasmin luck and continued his climb.

Walking further, Jasmin met a bat named Clarence. Clarence had big eyes and could see very well at night. Jasmin asked him the same question about rainbows. Clarence shared, "I saw a beautiful rainbow last spring. It had seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. From up in the sky, it looked like a half-circle that touches the ground." After sharing his story, Clarence flew away into the night.

As Jasmin kept walking, she noticed a very bright light far away at the end of the town. That was exactly where she wanted to go! She felt excited and a bit nervous. What could this bright light be?

As Jasmin approached this mysterious light, she was ready to learn more about these pretty rainbows. She felt brave and ready for whatever adventure was waiting for her next.

The Rainbow's Gift

As the sun began to rise and the rain stopped, Jasmin finally reached the end of town. She stood very still because she saw something amazing. A brand-new rainbow appeared in the sky, and it looked like it was waking up. The rainbow even smiled at Jasmin, making her feel special.

Feeling a bit shy but also very curious, Jasmin asked the rainbow, "Is it true that there are treasures and magic where you touch the ground?"

The rainbow laughed softly and said, "I am the treasure. My bright colors bring happiness and joy to the sky. I inspire people who make art, go on adventures, and dream big dreams."

Then, the rainbow asked Jasmin if she wanted to go for a ride on its colors. Jasmin was so excited and said yes. Riding on the rainbow was the most fun she ever had. She flew through the sky in colors that shined and danced. It was like being in a dream.

After their fun ride, the rainbow did something very kind. It took Jasmin back home, ending right at her house. Jasmin stepped off the rainbow, feeling very happy and full of new memories.

The rainbow said goodbye and disappeared into the morning light. Jasmin knew then that the rainbow was showing her the treasure she was looking for was home.
