Whiskers the Cat Wanders to the Wharf
In a colorful village, lives a curious cat named Whiskers. Every day, Whiskers wanders around his village visiting all his favorite spots and saying hello to his friends.
“Today, I think I will go visit my friend at the Wharf,” thinks Whiskers. “Maybe, he will have some delicious treat to share.”
Along his way, Whiskers sees a big, green tree. "Wow!" thinks Whiskers, "I see so many sturdy branches! Let me see if I can climb that tree, and take a little cat nap."
After resting in the tree, Whiskers hears children playing and laughing. He turns and sees the kids run up to the base of the tree. “Their kite is caught in the branches,” thinks Whiskers. With his right paw, he nudged the kites loose, seeing it fall to the ground. Whiskers smiles and thinks, "It's fun to see the kids so happy!"
With a good long cat stretch, Whiskers starts to mosey on his way to the wharf. Just then, he hears a little chirping sound. He looks around to see where it's coming from. He sees a tiny bird on the ground. The bird is looking for food to bring back to her nest. Whiskers decides to help the bird find some yummy food.
They look around and see bushes, trees, and flowers. After collecting lots of goodies, Whiskers helps the bird carry it all back to the nest. "Thank you for helping me Whiskers!" Whiskers purrs, and replies, “Thank you for letting me help.”
The little bird chirps happily and flies up to its nest. Whiskers feels happy he could be helpful, and continues on his journey.
“Hello, Whiskers, my friend!” calls out the fisherman at the wharf. “Would you like a little treat?”
Rubbing against the fisherman’s legs, Whiskers answers, purring “yes, please.” After finishing his snack, Whiskers licks his paws, cleans his face and thanks his friend the fisherman.
As Whiskers walks back to his home, he sees the sky change colors. "What a beautiful day to see so many wonderful friends!" Whiskers thinks.
