Isaac Inches To The Road
About This Story
This story is about Waiting and Safety.
Do you know that roads can be dangerous?
In this story, Isaac learns that very lesson.
Isaac Inches To The Road
Isaac had always been fascinated by what was beyond the road near his tree. Each day, he inched closer, dreaming of exploring the other side.
One morning, as Isaac neared the edge of the road, a wise mother bird perched high above saw Isaac getting too close to the road. The bird, with feathers as green as grass, swooped down to Isaac's level.
"Good morning, young Isaac," the bird chirped, her voice as gentle as the breeze. "I see the adventure in your heart, but the road ahead is not meant for tiny feet like yours."
Isaac looked up, his heart sinking a bit. "But I want to see what's on the other side," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I know, Isaac, and one day, you'll explore far and wide. But crossing this road is dangerous. Cars rush by, not seeing small creatures like you. It's unsafe for someone who crawls so close to the ground," she said.
Isaac's curiosity battled with his fear, but the wisdom of the mother bird was hard to ignore.
"And remember Isaac," the bird continued, her voice now filled with a hint of excitement, "you are on a journey of change. Soon, you will be a moth with wings as wide as the leaves you munch on. Then, you can soar across this road and beyond, exploring safely from the sky."
Isaac's eyes lit up at the thought. The idea of flying, of seeing the world from above, filled him with a new dream, one much grander than crossing the road.
"Thank you," Isaac murmured, looking up at the bird with gratitude. "I will wait, and I will dream of the skies."
The bird smiled, pleased with Isaac's wise decision. "You have a brave heart, Isaac. Keep dreaming; soon, your wings will take you wherever you wish. Until then, watch, learn, and grow."
