Max And His Kite
The Flight of Fun
It was a great day for Max. Why, you ask? Max just had a birthday, and his present was a brand-new kite. With string in hand, Max ran up and down the hill, dragging his kite into the wind. Then suddenly, woosh, it was up in the sky far above his head. It wasn’t long before Max's face suddenly lost all its joy as his colorful kite got snagged in a tall tree. He thought he had lost it forever and started to cry. "It's gone," Max said sadly.
Stuck In A Moment
But Ella, his big sister, had been watching him play. She saw his disappointment and asked, "Max, would you let me help? We can check the garage for something we can use."
Max's eyes brightened with hope, and together, they hurried to the garage. Among the boxes and tools, they found a big roll of tape, that was labeled “Super-strong Monster” tape.
A Bright Idea
Ella had an idea. "Let's wrap some of these fallen tree branches together with this tape," she suggested, "and attach a paper towel ball to the end so the kite won’t get damaged when we try to nudge it free.
Max watched as Ella worked her magic, turning sticks and tape into a long pole with a soft tip. “Wow”, he thought.
They carefully aimed the pole at the kite. With a gentle poke, they nudged the kite, and it started to wiggle free. With a few more nudges and a little help from the wind, the kite was free.
Excited shouts filled the air as the kite fluttered down, safe and sound. Max couldn't believe it. His kite wasn't lost after all!
Keep Flying
Grinning from ear to ear and a little embarrassed for crying, Max hugged his sister tightly. "Thank you, Ella!" he whispered, feeling overjoyed.
Ella smiled back. "See, problem solved."
