Playright Can Help Improve Functional Participation in Daily Activities

Does your child relate to any of the following?

  • There is never enough time

  • I don’t know where to start

  • There is too much to do and it stresses me out

  • It’s too hard to concentrate

  • I wish I could get more done each day

If so, they may benefit from a tailored program to help them increase their ability to fully participate and function in their daily activities. At Playright, we work together with each child and family to learn how to

  • Structure your day to feel organized

  • Make Achievable SMART goals: SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Each element of the SMART framework adds a layer of clarity and realism to a goal, making it more attainable. Here's a breakdown of each component as it relates to helping a child with math:

    1. Specific: Instead of a broad aim like "get better at math," a child's specific goal could be "learn to solve addition problems up to 20 without using my fingers."

    2. Measurable: This goal is quantifiable. The child and a parent or teacher can count the number of addition problems they solve correctly each day, aiming for consistent improvement.

    3. Achievable: The goal is realistic and considers the child's current math skills, encouraging them to stretch their abilities without becoming frustrated.

    4. Relevant: Improving addition skills is pertinent for a child's overall mathematical development, supporting their academic progress and building confidence in their abilities.

    5. Time-bound: Setting a deadline, such as "achieve this by the end of the month," provides a clear timeframe and helps the child stay focused and motivated.

  • Build Healthy Habits: Energy, Concentration, Self Control, Productivity, Sense of Well-Being

  • Use Mindfulness to Manage Big Emotions that interfere with getting things accomplished

  • Learn how to Focus on one thing at a time

  • Increase Mindfulness and Positivity

We look forward to meeting you!
